Terms of Service
Effective 26 October 2026
PowerTrace provides independent power data quality control: recording comparisons, automatic checks, PPT/baseline comparisons, saved history and reports. These terms explain the conditions for using the service. Please read them before creating an account, connecting a service or submitting data.
1. Who provides PowerTrace
PowerTrace is operated by Johannes Randrop Keiding. Contact pocketwoolf@gmail.com for support, account questions, complaints, data requests or reports of misuse. These terms apply to PowerTrace at powertrace.app and its analysis, account, connection, export and sharing features.
2. Using the service
By creating an account or using PowerTrace’s analysis, connection or sharing features, you agree to these terms. You must have the legal capacity to agree, or the permission and involvement of a parent or guardian where required by law. Any third-party sign-in or connected service has its own eligibility and minimum-age requirements; you must also meet those requirements.
You can analyse manually selected files without an account. An account is needed for private server saves and creating public share links. Features may be experimental or change as the software develops. Synthetic examples are demonstrations, not records of real riders.
3. What results mean
PowerTrace checks recorded data and applies statistical rules and performance models. Results depend on the supplied recordings, alignment, selected ranges, device information, baseline and settings. Missing, inaccurate or incomplete data can affect the result. Different software versions or settings can produce different findings.
An “Approved” result describes the available checks within the assessed data. It is not a certification of absolute power accuracy, sensor independence, rider identity, compliance with race rules or the absence of manipulation. A flagged result is a reason to inspect the evidence; it is not by itself proof of misconduct or of a faulty device. A PPT exceedance can reflect fitness, effort, conditions, the baseline or measurement differences.
PowerTrace is not an official race authority or a medical service. Riders, coaches and organisers should review the underlying evidence and relevant rules before making consequential decisions. Race eligibility, sanctions and appeals remain matters for the relevant organiser or governing body. PowerTrace is independent of, and does not imply endorsement by, Discord, Strava, Google, Intervals.icu, MyWhoosh, device manufacturers or race organisers.
4. Your recordings and other content
You retain the rights you have in recordings, labels and other content you provide. You must own the content or have the rights, permissions and lawful basis needed to process it through PowerTrace. This also applies when analysing another rider’s files or sharing reports with riders, coaches or organisers. Do not submit credentials, private information or sensitive data that you are not entitled to provide.
You give PowerTrace permission to process your content only as reasonably necessary to provide the features you request: for example, analysing it, saving it privately, retaining enabled fitness evidence, creating an export, or delivering a shared snapshot. This permission does not transfer ownership or give a general right to sell your recordings. Data handling and deletion choices are explained in the Privacy notice.
5. Accounts and optional connections
Use an account you control and protect your login methods. Tell the operator if you suspect unauthorised access. Linking providers must follow the account-verification and confirmation steps shown in PowerTrace. Matching names or a provider email address alone do not establish that two accounts belong to the same person. A fresh PowerTrace email code requested while signed in can automatically combine the account with an existing account for that address, preserving both private histories and prioritising the existing email account’s settings. Compatible ride connections are retained; different athlete connections require a choice before linking.
Intervals.icu OAuth can create a PowerTrace account or sign you in using your athlete identity and connect available original ride files with activity-read permission. New sign-ins do not enable automatic comparisons, fitness checks or notifications; these remain separate choices. You can link other verified login methods later. Third-party connections are optional and subject to the provider’s terms, permissions, availability and limits. Where a Discord connection is offered, authorisation happens through Discord; PowerTrace does not ask for your Discord password. Basic Discord sign-in uses your stable user identifier to recognise your account. Additional permissions must be explained and separately authorised when a feature needs them. Sign-in alone does not authorise posting reports, sending messages or joining servers on your behalf.
Enabling automatic Intervals.icu comparisons authorises the scheduled retrieval and private saving of eligible original recordings for that feature. It does not create public share links or replace your current PPT automatically. Original-file availability varies, and Strava-sourced activities are excluded from that import path. You can change enabled connection and notification settings later. Provider changes or disconnection can interrupt connected features.
6. Sharing and exports
Review the content before sharing. Anyone with a public share link can access the shared snapshot without signing in and may copy, download or forward its data and reports. Revoking a link stops future access through that link on PowerTrace, but cannot recall copies already obtained. Updating private data does not automatically update an existing shared snapshot.
Share only content you are entitled to disclose. Preserve relevant context and limitations when forwarding results. Do not present synthetic, altered or selectively edited material as independent proof of a rider’s performance or conduct. Downloaded files, copied text and externally posted images are under your control.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use PowerTrace unlawfully, impersonate someone, access another person’s private account or data without permission, bypass access controls, distribute malicious content, disrupt the service, or use reports to harass or knowingly mislead others. Automated access must use any supported interface within its published limits and respect the rights and rules of the data sources involved. Do not use PowerTrace to evade another platform’s restrictions.
8. Availability, backups and changes
We aim to provide a useful service, but uninterrupted availability, error-free analysis and permanent storage cannot be guaranteed. Keep your original recordings and export important work. Browser-only work can be lost if you close the page or clear local storage. Server-side records are handled as described in the Privacy notice.
We may update the service to fix errors, improve functionality, protect users or comply with legal or provider requirements. Material changes to these terms will be identified with an updated effective date and reasonable notice where practicable or required by law. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen. If a change requires your agreement under applicable law, we will obtain it before applying that change to you.
9. Stopping use and restricted access
You can stop using PowerTrace, disconnect optional services and use the available deletion and export controls. For complete account-data deletion, contact the operator. Disconnecting a provider does not automatically delete separately saved analyses or baseline profiles.
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these terms, a security threat, unlawful use or a legal obligation. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the problem. You may contact the operator to challenge a restriction. Any obligations and remedies required by law continue to apply.
10. Responsibility and your legal rights
Use reasonable care when interpreting results and choosing what to save or share. We remain responsible for obligations and losses for which we are liable under applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.
Nothing here removes mandatory consumer, data-protection or other statutory rights. These terms do not require arbitration or prevent you from using a court, regulator or complaint process available to you under applicable law. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful. Contact us first if you would like help resolving a concern; doing so is not a condition for exercising your legal rights.
